French Handcrafted Knives & Knife Making Academy - Est. 2007

Situated and inspired by the tranquil surroundings: Outiniqua mountains in the North and the Indian Ocean in the South (George, South Africa) together with our perfectionist personalities, we pour a piece of our sole in every knife we create.

Vincent, with his admiration of Piet Grey’s – Bush King Knife, at a very young age, and latter bush experience, is well aware of the benefits and value of a trustworthy, strong, practical and all round multi-purpose survival and tactical knife. ..this resulted in the vision of creating the ultimate bush, survival and hunting knives, which will not let anyone down!

Being taught the art of knife-making by Vincent’s friend and member of the “The Knifemakers’ Guild of Southern Africa” , Peet Bronkhorst as well as Gawie & Thinus Herbst (Herbst Knife-making Academy), Vincent’s vision became reality and are now shared with all interested. Vincent has been crafting knives since 2007.

In 2015, Vincent & Almarie also travelled to Hyvinkaa, Finland to learn the correct way of crafting one of the most awesome blades... The Finnish Puukko. Here, Karri Rautinnen was the mentor and today, Puukko's are crafted with the knowledge gained.

We also believe that one can never learn enough, so both Almarie & I completed a Forging workshop at Heaven Forge under the tutorship of Kevin Harvey, Master Blade-smith & Chairman of the Knife Makers Guild of South Africa.
