Workshops can be booked for any Friday & Saturday during the year for two- day workshops, or any Thursday, Friday & Saturday
for our 3 Day Workshops. Dates & availability will be confirmed with learners.

No prior knife making experience is required.
This course covers basic design, materials, supplier lists, mark-out and cutting, hollow grinding, fitting of bolsters, fitting of handle materials,
mirror finishing, etching of name and an overview on basic leather sheath making.
Includes extensive hollow grinding exercises

2 Day Slip-joint Folder Workshop - R 3 000
No prior knife making experience is required.
Covers basic design, materials, mark-out and cutting, hollow grinding, relieving liners on a milling machine, final fitting and riviting,
mirror finishing, fitting of handle materials, lubricating and caring.
Includes extensive hollow grinding exercises & milling work
A comprehensive training manual is included

2 Day Basic Puukko Workshop - R 2 500
No prior knife making experience is required.
Covers fitting of front guard & pommel to a completed Puukko blade imported from Finnland, fitting and correct shaping of the handle
to ensure a locking mechanism (knapsu) to integrate with the traditional sheath to the handle - through tang , crafting of the traditional Puukko sheath
with wooden "lesta" (blade receiver)

3 Day Finnish Puukko Workshop - R 3 900
No prior knife making experience is required.
Covers history & historic design, materials, mark-out and cutting, flat grinding (Rhombic grinding), fitting of front guard & pommel,
final fitting and peening, mirror finishing, fitting and correct shaping of the handle to ensure a locking mechanism (knapsu) to integrate with
the traditional sheath to the handle - through tang ,crafting of the traditional Puukko sheath with wooden "lesta" (blade receiver)
Includes extensive rohmbic grinding exercises

1 Day Class - Introduction to Bladesmithing - R 1800
In this basic course you will learn to hand forge a basic knife as historically done by utilizing a hammer, fire and anvil and will include heat-treatment
grinding, polishing, and sharpening.

You will go home with your own hand-forged as well as the knowledge to make more.

3 Day Smithy Troll Basic Bladesmithing Workshop R 4 500
The art of bladesmithing is the historical and traditional way of knifemaking by bladesmiths using high carbon steels.
By utilizing a hammer, fire and anvil a knife will be forged from design which will include heat-treatment, grinding, polishing, handle fitting,
leather sheath making and sharpening.
A comprehensive training manual is included

You will go home with your own hand-forged knife and sheath as well as the knowledge to make more.
You will make a knife that is worth more than R2 000 on this course.
